Guest Bio

She is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®, from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, holds a certificate in Roy Hart Training. She began her career as an actress and singer, before devoting her life to freeing and empowering others to become more alive on stage and screen and more effective communicators in their life and work. Her extensive knowledge of acting and singing for stage are the foundations on which she has built her practice. A unique element to this, is her experience teaching and training with international practitioners, which gives her a unique perspective on voice and personal development. Most recently she has added Somatic Experiencing into her work.

Director and founder of her own Voice Studio, in Temple Bar, Dublin, she is also co-director of “Articulate Anatomy Theatre Company”, which recently performed an adaption of Donal Ryan’s "The Spinning Heart" at Smock Alley in July 2016 and in early 2017. She is co-director of "The Fifth International Freedom & Focus Fitzmaurice Voicework Conference in London 2018. She teaches Voice at Bow Street, film school and Voice and Dialect at The Irish Film Academy.

Helena also hosts a "Free Listening" project, in Dublin City Centre, which will run on Friday’s throughout the year, which is connected to Benjamin Mathes "Urban Confessionals" project in LA.
