Guest Bio

Ivan Orlic is the founder of and serves as President at Seine Pictures, where he oversees the development, financing, production and distribution of its feature film projects.  Upon premiering at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, Seine Picture’s first film, an off-beat detective comedy co-produced with Sam Raimi of Raimi Productions, Inc. (director of Oz the Great and Powerful, Spider-Man 3) entitled “Murder of a Cat” (starring Greg Kinnear, Nikki Reed, Fran Kranz, Blythe Danner, and J.K. Simmons), enjoyed a theatrical and multiplatform release in 2014 and 2015. But Seine Picture’s flagship project to date has been “Pele: Birth of a Legend”, the biopic about legendary Brazilian footballer Pelé that was first introduced to the market at the Cannes Film Market by Mr. Orlic in association with the commercially and critically acclaimed iconic producer Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment and the legend himself, Pelé. Mr. Orlic is very hand-on and was in charge or supervising the day-to-day development, production, post-production and delivery of the film, in addition to working in coordination with Exclusive Media, Bloom, Creative Artists Agency, and William Morris/Endeavor, on the worldwide distribution of the ‘Pele’, which premiered at 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, enjoyed a successful worldwide commercial release rollout.  Seine Pictures is currently producing and executive producing a slate of feature-length projects, as well as actively developing new ones.

A graduate of the Second City Hollywood Conservatory for improv and sketch comedy, he is also active in the live performance community in Los Angeles.  A published author in two college-level textbooks, Mr. Orlic originally studied science and holds a B.S. degree in Zoology, and an M.S. degree in Fisheries Oceanography from Michigan State University, in addition to a professional certificate in film production from UCLA.

Mr. Orlic was also featured as a speaker at several conferences and seminars around the world, including the first Winston Baker Film Finance Forum Latin America held in Rio de Janeiro in 2013 Hispanicize LA 2016, and the prestigious Cannes Producer’s Network in 2017, and has also been a featured guest lecturer at UCLA Extension’s Film Finance course since 2014.
